What is the difference...
when
purchasing your GSD Puppy?

Limited vs. Full Registration

Limited Registration
A Puppy which is purchased from the breeder with Limited Registration through AKC allows the buyer
to apply for an AKC Registration Certificate for that puppy, stating that the pup is of purebred parents who were Fully Registered through AKC.

Your new puppy's AKC Application for Registration must be supplied to you by the breeder when you purchase your pup.

Limited Registration status does not come with future Breeding Rights through AKC
for the puppy you are purchasing, and AKC will not register any future offspring produced from either or both parents who are AKC Registered with Limited Registration Status.

If you are purchasing your dog for breeding purposes, Full Registration will be necessary.

Full Registration

A Puppy which is purchased from the breeder with Full Registration through AKC allows the buyer to apply for an AKC Registration Certificate for that puppy, stating that the pup is of purebred parents who were also registered with Full Registration through AKC.

Your new puppy's AKC Application for Registration must be supplied to you by the breeder when you purchase your pup.

Full Registration status gives the buyer future applicable breeding rights through AKC, provided that all other criteria required by AKC for breeding and registration has been met; Assuming that all purchase terms with your breeder have been met, AKC will then allow you to register future offspring which are
produced from two parents who are AKC Registered with Full Registration Status.

Full registration Status may also be required for buyers who wish to obtain future working Schutzhund titles for their dogs, or plan to participate in the AKC Breed Competition show ring as well as many additional working and AKC categories.
